Healing Brain Seminars

In the past 25 years, brain and behavioral sciences began to illuminate the crucial features linking the external environment, brain processes, and states of health and disease. The benefits of laughter, the role of endorphins in the placebo effect, the effect of stress on the immune system were but a few of the emerging areas of critical importance to health professionals. In the decade between 1980-1990s, ISHK presented these Healing Brain Seminars to professional and lay people alike to educate them on how understanding how the mind and body interact and impact human health is vitally important to our survival as a species. These seminars were under the direction of Dr. David Sobel, Director of Preventive Medicine at Kaiser Permanente.
